SJ to ABQ...

     

WE MADE IT... luckily with only one outburst and the girls were awesome. We got up and left a little later than we had planned, but the worst part was the rain. Tony said it best - it was like we were getting sprayed with the garden hose. We parked the cars, hopped in the cab and away we went... sort of. The cabby took the SLOWEST possible route to the airport (I am in the back seat panicking, where as my solid-calm-rock-of-a-husband is remaining positive...) then when we finally get there, security is out the door where they have attendants directing traffic. I started to pray... pray, pray, pray.... not that we would make it but I prayed for patience because I knew God was testing me since I do not do well in situations like these (hence why I married a man who balances me out!) When it was our turn to go through security... well... let's just say if you were in  hurry, you would not want to be behind us. With all the laptops, DVD player, cameras, breast milk, etc it took what felt like an eternity! Once we were through, I sent Tony with the girls to get hot water for Avery and I made a mad dash for the gate to make sure they didn't go anywhere without us. Getting on the plane was a challenge - a BIG challenge with all the car seats, the diaper bags... and we met some really, really nice people along the way. One man was nice enough to get us more hot water, another gave us his seat for us, another helped us get settled, the SOUTHWEST staff was really great... it was reassuring that there are nice people out there! It was clearly a team effort, Tony was with Addie while Avery and I sat in the row ahead of them. Here are two pics from the plane. Yes, I got some funny looks since I had to use the flash (lighting wasn't AV/TV friendly) but oh well... life is too short to not capture images like this!!!
