Our first stop was Kennebunk Port, Maine. This little town had quaint cottages, snow on all the overhangs and antique shops galore. We parked and started to walk down this street but we noticed that most of the shops were closed. We asked the clerk at the only store that was open just why all these adorable shops were closed. His reply was "it's February." He looked at us like we were dumb for asking but I guess these little shops make enough during the spring/summer that they remain closed the rest of the year. So we just decided to take a few pictures and then get back in the car to sight see Being from New Mexico, this particular sign caught my attention, are those red and green chiles on that sign? Just how "flaming" could they be in Maine? Again, we weren't able to test out the chile because the shop was closed. Bummer!
We stumbled upon this string of beach houses and decided to test the waters. Trust me, the water was cold!!! Two different beaches on two different coasts within one week... WOW! We touched the water and saw authentic Nor Easter sea foam...sea foam is not really green, at least not up here so Crayola should re-evaluate the name of that particular crayon.

York Harbor, Maine was our next stop. We went to the lighthouse at Nubble Light Long Sands Beach. The water was really active and the wind was definitely blowing. The rocks were a little tough to navigate but we were good until one of the seagulls started squawking. That made us nervous and knowing our luck we would be covered in the "white stuff" if we didn't move.

We then realized our stomachs were growling so it was time for "dunch" {a meal between lunch and dinner} where we ate way too much. We were thinking, "hey, we are in Maine... we need to eat lobster and blueberries." That is exactly what we did! Our meal included the best lobster-corn chowder ever, oh-so-tasty crab cakes, authentic Maine lobster, lobster ravioli with scallops and prawns...

yep we ate it all!
