Today was a blast!!! Our morning started a little early, around 7:30 am. Tony had a radio interview to do promoting National Girls & Women in Sports Day at 8:30 am and then we were off to dance class for Addie. She was a good girl today - paid attention in class and learned a few new moves, so we just know that she will be twirling any chance she gets. After dance class, we grabbed a quick bite to eat and then we went to an elementary school where Tony talked to the students about the importance of getting out and playing sports - respecting each other and that girls can play just as hard as the boys. The students ate him up!
Addie did a great job of sitting and listening - she even scooted over to where the big kids were and sat with her legs crossed, counted when the principal did and cheered with the other children.

We also were paired with the new women's soccer team that has been created right here in Santa Clara. Famous women's soccer player Brandi Chastain was there along with her teammates. It was awesome! Brandi is such a kind person and is so incredibly down to earth. She even took Addie up to the front of the assembly and introduced her... all the kids greeted Addie and she got this big-'ol smile on her face! It was adorable. Brandi also kept Tony busy - telling the kids that for the next few minutes he was going to trade in his football for some futbol! They "juggled" as I think it is called (not really a soccer buff) when they bounce the ball back and forth to each other - way to use your head! Sorry, I don't have any pics of that - I was keeping Addie occupied and swaying back'n'forth so Avery would stay asleep. The photographer that was there PROMISED to get me the pics, therefore when I get them I will post them. The assembly for the kids was about an half an hour or so but they didn't dilly dally - the soccer team and Tony's group were then heading up the San Fran to do a TV interview. Tony was a busy bee today - but the girls and I decided to head home for a precious, much needed nap. But before we left we were able to snag a great shot of Brandi with Addie and Tony. As you can see, we didn't have time to change from dance class!
