the perfect curl...

Need I say more about this little red ringlet??? This happened to be a good hair day for Addie - mostly because she was gracious enough to sit still long enough for piggie tails.

Today was a bum-around day. I tried a few new recipes and sadly will not be making them again as is (perhaps with a few adjustments here and there, but really... on to the next recipe!) I have gone through all of our cookbooks up here in Cali and marked the ones I am really wanting to try.The pictures were deceiving, so as for now my drool is reserved for the le Creuset cookware. The pork tenderloin with roasted pears that I made last night was tasty but the others from that book haven't been as inspiring. I put 98% of Avery's announcements in the mail yesterday so I can scratch one more thing off my list. Tony played with the girls and worked on computer stuff. Poor thing is the last of us to battle this cold but that doesn't keep him from tickle games or "wake up daddy." He has the special touch to make Avery smile on cue - asleep OR wide awake. He tickles her just below her nose and poof... instant smile. When I try to do it, I got nothin'. I guess it is the father's touch!

Addie played kitchen most of the day and worked on her vocabulary. We are noticing all the little words she has picked up from the movies (thank you Nemo, Cars, Ratatouille, etc.) and elsewhere. We are very aware of saying anything except "OH NO!" when things don't go as we had hoped. She knows the lyrics to the songs, has the expressions that go along with the words... a really sharp memory! We even noticed the last time Ratatouille was on she would sing along to even the french songs in the background - wee wee!

As for tomorrow (SUPERBOWL SUNDAY) we are going to stay home, finish up the laundry, rest and watch the game - that is, if Addie will let us! Perhaps we will take her to the park before so she get her wiggles out!

Did I tell you I am VERY partial to red hair - especially red curls on girls. My grandmother (who I love to death) had red hair (and still does) and my mother also had red hair. So needless to say I did not inherit their red hair and was supposed to produce a red haired girl but I guess I will pass that responsibility onto my blond haired boys!
