The hours of being vertical are dwindling... but totally worth it! Tony and I realize that tonight was our last night having dinner as a family when it will just be the three of us. As Tony put it... we officially become a quad as of Monday. He is going to be totally out-numbered and is 100% happy with that.
Since today was my last day of running errands (I will admit I did almost too much), I am happy to report that I got all my stuff done. We started our day with a non-stress test at Stanford which went really well. Avery's heart beat is great, steady and strong... it was just tough to monitor it because she has dropped down so far south. That explains why my back was hurting like crazy last night. I asked the nurses if my back pain was "back labor" and they confirmed that it was not... in fact I didn't have a single contraction while I was being tested, which makes me optimistic for Avery's cooperation in not coming until her daddy gets home on Sunday.
After the doctor appointment, we went to pick up our monogrammed tree skirt and stockings (I went a little nuts and decided to have everything personalized and ready to go since we knew Avery was going to technically be home for her first Christmas) along with other little things from Babies R Us, Best Buy, etc. We were gone all day and got home about 20 minutes before Tony did. Other than being tired, I feel great. Yes, my back is sore but aren't most prego ladies at least a little uncomfortable this late in the game? Please understand, I am not complaining... just reporting the facts in that I know this child has dropped because it is getting harder and harder NOT to waddle. I feel like a duck, quack like a duck... I am just not yellow nor do I have a beak.
Addie is amazing! She is such a doll, I love her so much. In the past week or so she has started using phrases, two in particular. You can hear her say "Thank You" in this angelic, melt-your-heart voice and then there is the sentence of "dia di gen oh y it's a horse-y" which is hysterical. She totally knows what she is saying in the beginning of the sentence and then the rest of us can only make out the last part of it. We really noticed her saying horse-y after watching the NFL football game on TV... you know those Budweiser commercials with the Clydesdale horses? Well, one of their new commercials was on and Addie blurted out (clear as day) "it's a horse-y." I am trying to record it on my phone because that would be the best ring tone ever!!!
