bad hair day...

Over the past couple of days we have been keeping a close eye on Miss Avery's hair, better yet the rate at which it seems to be disappearing. She was born with this soft, dark brown hair and right now we are sporting like 4 different hair-do's at once. There is the top which still has some curl to it, the lower part of her neck sports a cute-straight tuft, the sides are similar to a wise man in his eighties, and then the all-precious-first-tangle of her lifetime. It is hard to see in the photos, but it is on the back there are these three little knots of hair all stuck together. I guess if you are going to sleep for 12 hours at a time {yay!}, you are bound to have some interesting bed-head.
Yesterday when she finally woke up around 11:30 am, in the corner of her cradle you could see her precious locks just gathered up on the sheet and the bumper {"nobody puts baby in the corner!" we promise we lay her down in the middle of the cradle at night...she just digs her heels in and wiggles up there}. See, with Addie... since she had her two fingers in her mouth you would pick her up in the morning and she had rubbed all her little red hair off the sides - creating a  rooster-like hair-do. With Avery, now that she is sucking her thumb she just works her way up to the upper right corner of her crib and just snooze away, with each twist and turn losing more and more of her pretty dark hair.
Happy birthday Pa Mike!
Here is a funny hair-do of Avery trying to be just like her grandpa!
Love ya!
