Yesterday was full of activities and scratching things off our "to do" list!
*Hannah watched Avery while Tony and I took Addie for the morning
*updated our lease so we aren't moving this year {the Zwilling Moving Company can take the year off, yay!}
*took Addie to get her follow-up chest xrays done, first the nurse called her name and as Tony and I mosey over she puts her finger up and says "only one parent please" to where she gets stern looks from both of us and as her parents we said something like "...and you have an entire staff to hold her down?" the nurse looked puzzled, then gave in and let us both in {okay, we understand she's been busy at nursing school and clearly doesn't have kids because what two year old is going to hold still for an xray? can we start with getting her to hold still at the dinner table???} Addie was distracted by a new game we invented called "play-dough-in-your-pocket" until we got to the machines. Then it was awful - talk about pulling at your heart strings - but who else should be the ones to make sure every "t" is crossed and "i" is dotted than her parents who have been with her EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!
VINTAGE ADDIE
{1st, 2nd, and final visits/procedures in fall of 2007}
It was tough, but once we were finished and heard repeating pleas of "shirt on...shoes on...door dat one door dat one..." she stood up on the table with tear filled big brown eyes, mangled piggy tails and said "DONE NOW" in the sternest voice I have ever heard the child utter. One day we will explain all of this to her, just now she is scared and doesn't understand...
*to change the pace, tone and everything about the previous hour of our morning, we stopped by Addie's new preschool where Miss Heather {the fabulous director} gave us the tour and Addie had an opportunity to play with the kids. She walked right in and sat down for story time!!! Tony was as impressed with the facility as I was and we both feel this is a great place to help reinforce the potty training!
*ran a few errands, picked up some lunch for all of us and brought it home to eat with Hannah. We let Addie pick out her chips, she chose Doritos which she ate the entire bag on the way home. Did we want her to polish off chips for lunch??? of course not but given what her morning was like, we let it slide.
*had a chance to catch up with Hannah, she is an amazing young woman who I have officially taken in as my new little sister! So proud of her, all of her accomplishments and honored to have her and her family in our life!
*got the girls down for a nap which led to a productive 2 hours of cleaning, organizing {Getting anything done with a baby/toddler is like shoveling in a blizzard - Author Unknown} and taking cute pics of nap time like this one! Thank you again Auntie Janice for PIG, as you can see she can't go to sleep without it! Please notice Avery's painted toes... they look like precious little red hots!
*received a wonderful phone call from my dear "LW," always great getting to catch up and hear wonderful news!
*packed up my scrap stuff, headed up to PMP for a fun filled night to where I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants... TWICE!!! You ladies are the best - loved getting to hang with my new fellow garage girl Shelly who I swear found the fountain of youth. Erin, Po, Suzy & Angel - I love you guys!!!
*came home to a happy hubby who had a peaceful night with the girls - good news, Addie like to use the BIG potty now...
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and as we give thanks to all those who have done so much for our country say a little prayer for all those who are still fighting. My prayers are with them and their families!!! GOD BLESS!!!
