We have been talking about going to the Gilroy Garlic Festival for awhile and yesterday after Addie woke up from her nap we packed the girls up and headed south. Avery slept the whole way down there and Addie sang her bible songs at the top of her lungs. Such precious moments with the girls in the car... We could tell we were approached the fairgrounds when we sniffed this savory aroma - GARLIC!!! Once we got the the fairgrounds we lathered up in sun screen and caught the shuttle. When Addie got on the bus she pointed out the cows, trees, told us they were green and then she blurted out "I so excited!!!" The other people on the bus got a big giggle out of the whole thing.
We enjoyed amazing food drizzled/stuffed/chopped/marinated/creamed with GARLIC! What these garlic-gineers did with that bulb of flavor was AWESOME!!! Some of the menu items that we tried included *french bread*scampi*sausage*ice cream*popcorn*penne*pepper steak sandwich!!! Oh my gosh was the food amazing... Tony enjoyed every bite but towards the end he was looking for the TUMS booth (hee hee hee) All I kept thinking about was little Avery and whether of not she could handle the garlic goodness, so I opted to P&D.
Much to our surprise, Addie ate/enjoyed all of her garlic ice cream.
We even got her to say garlic only it came out more like "gAAAAArlic."
We ventured over the the arts & crafts area where we did a little shopping but then we found the children's adventure park and that is where we spent the remainder of the evening. There were lines in front of the face painting so we opted for the toddler carny rides instead.

But first we had to make sure she was tall enough... ummm yeah, she may be just shy of 3 but she could ride the big kid rides.

And to finish off our evening, a ginormous bag of Kettle corn. Please tell me, what festival would be complete without Kettle corn??? I think Tony put it best when he said "that bag of kettle corn could go on the rides with you Addie!"
