fangs and a face plant...

FANGS: Well, we have had an eventful week! We utilized our CSI skills and discovered the reason for Avery's sudden crankiness... we have fangs that have broken through and hurt like crazy! Poor baby is gnawing on anything she can get her hands on. Some of the items that have fell victim to her teething include a McDonald's Egg McMuffin wrapper, the remote, Addie's pigtail, jumbo puzzle pieces, etc. Addie has been a good sport, but is attempting to enforce the Toddler's Creed which doesn't really fly with mommy and daddy but when she gets frustrated with Avery she has this special way of saying her name prior to acting like the typical 3 year old.
FACE PLANT: Time to add another story to my list of bad mommy moments... allow me to set the scene. As I was drying Addie off after her shower I had her all wrapped up tight in her towel and as I picked her up to go put her pj's on she slipped forward out of the towel and landed face first right into the bathroom rug. I have never said prayers that fast in all my life!!! She cried for a good 20 minutes, we checked her out {eyes, ears, cheek, teeth, etc.} and there was no major damage. She did bite her lower lip a little and her nose was a little red around the edge... but thankfully that was the worst of it. We started to relax just a hair after Tony asked her if she would like to watch Dora & Boots to which she jumped up and said "Do-wa Booooots - Yay!" She curled up on the couch next to me and laid on an ice pack for awhile. She slept all night {I did check on her quite a few times} and this morning woke up bright-eyed and ready to go. Thank you for all your prayers! Love you Addie and mommy is SO sorry...
UPDATE: Since ya'll have been asking, here is the Toddler's Creed that googled... hope you get a giggle or two!

Toddler's Creed

The "Toddler's Creed" appeared in the syndicated weekly newspaper article "Families Today" by T. Berry Brazelton. It is a nice reminder of the stresses we feel with normal behavior of toddlers. Enjoy.

If I want it, it's mine.
If I give it to you and change my mind later, it's mine.
If I can take it away from you, it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
If it's mine, it will never belong to anybody else, no matter what.
If we are building something together, all the pieces are mine.
If it looks just like mine, it is mine.
