Today was just one of those days that defines why I love being a mom. Addie woke up super early this morning then later took a snooze around 7am or so... but once she woke up she was bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready to go. We went to the park, ran around the grass for what seemed like miles. The park we play at is close to a school and there were kids out for their P.E. class. Addie wanted to play soccer with the big kids so she made a b-line for the gym. I had fun telling her that she was too little to play with the big kids. She just kept saying ball, ball, ball. She then decided that she wanted to let the artist inside her come out so we colored all sorts of silly things on the sidewalk with chalk. By the time we were done with the chalk she had more on her pants than she did on the sidewalk.
After playing at the park we did a little grocery shopping and stopped for a bite to eat. On the walk home she was singing her ABD's and then helped with the groceries. At this point it is time to start winding down for our nap but not today... today was a day of pure energy. I sat down with Addie and started reviewing our normal game of head, shoulders, knees and toes, read some books, and then she decided to run laps around me as I sit in the middle of the living room. As she would run, she would have this look in her eye of "I am up to something silly" and giggle uncontrollably. She is so ticklish! I think of my daughter as this silly, fun, too smart for a toddler, fearless being... and right now is in dyer need of a nap!
