welcome home coach...

I took a couple days off... I had to, I was so sore from the body sculpt class at the gym that even my fingers were fatigued. I know, I shall triumph over my ridiculously sore muscles and blog on... blog on!!!

So today was Tony's first day up at Cal Berkeley {coaching internship for spring football} and I must admit it has been fun to rock the GO BEARS cheer again - as if I am back in high school, sitting on the bleachers in my letter jacket at a pep rally in the gym. To honor him when he got home our little crafty princess decided to make daddy something... actually TWO somethings {she was channeling the inner-domestic-princess}.

First, we needed to make daddy a "WELCOME HOME COACH" sign made with ribbons, glitter, glimmer mist {yes, she did it herself with only one spray on her hair which we are affectionately referring to as Old Lace tattered highlights! - if you scrap, you get this... if not, moving on} tag punches, foam letters, etc.
good form on blending the goodies at the bottom of the bottle...
{great scrapper in the making - must be in the genes!!!}
this is her mommy's version of sewing...
After our sign was complete and in much need of time to dry {seriously, this kid loves loves loves the glitter glue!} it was time to bake. I asked our mini-Betty Crocker what she would like to make daddy and she said chocolate... to which I interpreted Shae's Perfectly Pumpkin Cookies {I had a craving for them myself}! So, out came the spice cake mix, the can of pumpkin and those chocolate chips... that's it folks! Addison poured the ingredients into the Kitchen-Aide bowl, asked to "turn it around" with her hands mimicking her request and the dough was almost complete... but not without an official taste test!

Sign made - CHECK!
Cookies baked - CHECK!
Picture with daddy as he walks in the door, seeing the expression on both their faces beaming at each other - well... does a mental picture count? It was too cute of a moment not to be forced but I will tell you they beamed - super big time!

PS. Where was Avery during all of this? Well, that munchkin is growing... she was busy taking a FOUR HOUR NAP!!! Ahh... it is amazing how much you can get done when she is in snoozeville!
