all pro dad's picnic...

Today was day two of preschool and again, it was like Addie knew where she was going. She put her backpack away first thing and then found a friend to play with... then realized we were still there and came over to give us kisses to say bye. I am so proud of her! Avery and I spent the morning giggling and making father's day cards at Erin's while Mari potty trained {Mari goes to preschool on Mon/Wed/Fri} Thank you my dear friend for opening up your house to us!

We picked Addie up at noon and headed home where she chatted it up in the car the whole way! She would say things like "I know you, what Mater, play-dough mom mommy mom pay-ting" Precious!!! She didn't fall asleep in the car, but once we got home she crashed for a good solid 2 1/2 hours {WE LOVE PRESCHOOL!} Avery was such a dolly and slept when she wanted to, woke up when she needed to and sprawled out when she had the opportunity! At one point they were both asleep which means I kicked myself into superclean mode and off I went picking up/clean sweepin' away!

This evening we were invited to a BBQ for the ALL PRO DADS Organization (www.allprodads.com) which focuses on the importance of father/child relationships. Fellow NFL great Guy MacIntyre and Tony were the honored guests at the event and there had to be over 100+ dads with their kids at the BBQ. It was funny because we pull up in our mini-van and were greeted by these awesome people, and this precious little boy sees Tony from afar and yells out "Oh wow! Your kids are so lucky to have you as their dad" and Tony's face just lit up. I later met the child's father and told him that he has done a great job raising his son to be so appreciative which made the guy very happy - in fact I think he was beaming! When we actually got settled at the event, Tony started signing autographs and he had Addie right their with him. All these 5 - 10 year olds are asking for Tony's autograph while Addie has this confused look on her face and she must have been thinking "why do all these kids want daddy to color? I want to color? daddy, can I color?" then, in the precious voice you hear her say COLOR??? I wanted to melt... We then had a burger & a hot dog while Addie ate Doritos for dinner {which food group does that fall under again?}, talked with other BBQ guests and then it was time for Guy and Tony to make their speech. This nice dad named Ash offered to take pictures of us since Avery and I were also asked to be by Tony's side while he talked to the kids. It was a great afternoon and it was so nice to have all four of us in a picture!

Here's the little boy who greeted us - so cute and so full of energy!
Guy and Tony signing autographs, you can see Addie basically right under Tony
Guy and Tony talking to the kids
Tony answering some of the kid's questions... my favorite was when one of the kids asked "Is football hard?" to where Tony's usual response is "Well, football is like really really hard homework" which gets the best reaction out of the kids & parents!
Addie has Doritos all over her face, Avery was upset that I was sitting down and Ash (a nice dad at the BBQ) snapped this pic of us. I love the way the sun is beaming down at just the right spots - very emotionally perfect!!!
Is this just not the cutest darn watermelon hat you have ever seen???
Oh, by the way... did you notice I am not in sweats??? Just had to point out that I am dressed as a normal person instead of my "mommy uniform" which consists of capris, t-shirt & my nikes.
