first day of kindergarten and second grade...

This is my heart,
in a big fat puddle,
on the ground...
Addison turned and said, "Come on Avery, let's go!"

Wait, wait, wait...
back up the school bus and let's take it from the top!

Here are my little baked goods, all dressed up for their first day of school!!!
Since they have been on Mountain Time these last few weeks they
were bright eyed and bushy tailed first thing this morning!!!

Posing for a few pics with their parental units...

In the classroom, all independent-mom-I-got-this attitude...
wow, she is SO grown up!!!

Posing after school with her buddies!

Avery with her teachers...
we are so very blessed!

And when I say blessed, I mean extremely blessed!
So... due to missing the "back to school, meet your teacher" visit last week,
I wanted to make sure Addison's supplies got their ok {again, thank you Mrs. S!}
so I went in with her today. Addison was all set, knew where to go and
what to do - so proud of her - to where when I came out of the second grade
classroom and towards the kindergarten room it was already passed 8:10!
I saw Tony but no Avery... she was already in her classroom!!!
Wait... what?
My baby went to kindergarten without me?
Wait, no, she's my baby!!!
So... I left Tony standing by himself and ran like a
be-fumbled goose carrying a camera and dragging a purse,
hauling it to Avery's classroom but the doors were already closed.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
I walked up to the closed gate and my eyes started to well up with tears!
I missed it...
I really missed it!
How on earth did this happen?
Somebody please push the rewind button and give me the last 10 minutes back!!!
AHHHHHHH!!!

And then...
out comes Mrs. S. with two students who had forgotten something in their backpacks!
She looked up at me, standing pathetically next to the closed gate and said,
"Well, your hubby wanted you to be the one to sign her in, would you like to come inside?"
{She totally, 100% knew that I had missed my moment and was giving me a second chance!}
I nearly hopped over that gate and was in the classroom and got to take this picture!
My heart wasn't hurting as bad because not only did I get to take this picture,

but I got an extra hug and a "I love you mommy!" which is the
VERY BEST MEDICINE IN THE HISTORY OF EVER!!!

Tony then took me to a very special "boo-hoo" breakfast where I
proceeded to sew fabric apples for our Study Buddy adventure.

And then after school, we staged a few photos and my heart was happy!

Posing with her sweet friend from Preschool!!!

It was a wonderful day, filled with lots of love from so many friendly faces!
Cheers to a new school year!

We love you girls with all our hearts!!!
