rainy afternoon...

When the weather outside is full of dark clouds and bright flashes of lightening, 

it's time for some quality time in the kitchen! 

While we waited for the oven to preheat, we played a few games!!! 

Oh the irony that Addie happened to draw the DOG card...

"Pretty pretty please, can I have a dog? You and Daddy have been thinking about it for a LONG time!"

By the way, she already named her pup - CAMELOT!

While I was grabbing ingredients from the pantry, I came back and found this!!! 

So after an outfit change {some people can only cook in the pj's} 

we got started on Grannie Annie's sugar cookies!

  

Now they may not look like Grannie Annie's but they sure do taste like them!!! 

Now the rain really started pouring!!!

Next up... breakfast!!! 

We made banana pancake muffins and the girls added their own toppings!

Some had blueberries, some had chocolate chips... 

but ALL of them had to have sprinkles!!!

Baking with my little baked goods is so much fun!

It's a time where I get to just be mom...

not worrying about how we are doing on our reading, writing & phonics!

Maybe that's why both of their nicknames are sweet bakery items?!?!?

HAHAHA!!!
