As you know by now that it is part of the Wragge DNA to combine hard work with fun-off-the-beaten-path experiences! Let's just say the party starts when we ALL get the giggles!
Enter the idea of our first family camping trip!!!
Or as I am now told "Glamping" trip!
The girls were excited, shared their thoughts on what it was going to be like and all I could do was to keep a straight face! I love them, I love their imaginations and their rationals!!! Oh goodness, I am thankful that I write/text/blog them down because some of there are to stinking funny that when I am 99 years old I want to remember these precious moments!
THE TENT:
We've had this toy princess tent for a few years now and the girls have played with in quite a bit. So when we told them that we were going camping, they immediately knew they were bringing their princess tent. So then Addison says with a straight face and big brown eyes just filled with excitement, "Mom, I'm so excited to meet all the friendly animals when we go camping! Squeel!"
I reply, confused: "Oh really honey, what makes you think all the animals are going to be friendly?"
She then says, "Mom, we are sleeping in a princess tent and all princesses are friends with the animals so then the animals will see the tent and know that we are friendly!"
Avery chimes in, "Yeah, we should go get our crowns!"
They both scurry off to get their jewels and I'm left with one ginormous grin on my face!
God, thank you for blessing me with these girls - full of imagination and joy!!!
Let's go for a hike...
um... not the right shoes but ok!
Scavenger Hunt time!!!
These are the shirts we made for our first trip out...
Using our handprints & some puff paint {Tony learned his lesson on red puff paint- T:0 vs. PP:1}
I think they came out pretty cute!
I just LOVE these faces!!!
It might have been a cool 72 degrees out but my heart is melting!!!
Thankful we packed a few things to keep them busy while we set up for dinner and s'mores!
"We are coloring pictures of the woods!"
There is just something about a man and his grill...
He's thrilled!!!
YUM!!!
S'MORES...
So during a typical camping trip I am sure people go through their fair share of chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers. For our next Camp Wragge trip, we will be doubling our ingredients!!!
These two crack me up!
Their princess tent was inside the grown up tent...
but hearing them talk in there was like there wasn't another person around for miles!
... but that didn't last! Avery crawled in with me around 11pm
and Addie came in around 3am. Needless to say, I woke up on the iPad, sleeping in a small 1ft x 7 ft space on the aero bed... and the baked goods were snoring and drooling their hearts out!
This is morning camp hair!!!
Cue song: Isn't she lovely!
Time for breakfast and to start packing up...
"but wait, Mommy, we haven't been fairies yet!" - Avery
Because that is a staple on the what to bring on a camping trip list - fairy wings!
They ran, they jumped, they "flew"
They even included daddy...
"Come on daddy, fly"
"Ok, I'm doing being a fairy now. Now what?"
So we put her to work!!!
Great trip and looking forward to our next break in the heat!!!
xoxo
