Today our baby girl turned six...
where oh where has the time gone???
it seems like only yesterday that she was...
and now she is...
oh dear...
so we threw this party together totally last minute, but when we asked Addison what kind of party she wanted and she replied "art and princess please mommy!" and the concept of painting princess party was born. here is a quick before shot... and it's a good thing because it is the only one of the three of us! {note to self: at ALL party/events take a family picture beforehand}
Quick peek at the decorations...
I am so thankful for pinterest because there are so many creative people out there
that just help get those juices flowing!
the cake was store bought but one-of-a-kind decorated with my mom and Auntie Carleigh Princess as the brain child behind the idea! here's a close up!!!
when you have moved as much as we have you tend to hang onto moving boxes - just in case!
well, what better way to add cute party decorations for the pretty price of just wrapping paper!!!
I will say beware of when and where you wrap your decorations. Addison came downstairs while I was wrapping and her eyes lit up like the fourth of july! she thought they were her actual presents!
you know what they say... just get the kid a box!
this was supposed to be the food table, however when the temp outside was 115 we moved the refreshments inside so they would indeed remain refreshing!
here is an upclose shot of the easiest dessert ever! i discovered this idea HERE and instead of making these rice crispy treats myself, the store bought ones worked out perfectly and the entire dessert took less than an hour to prep, assemble, & dip!!!
group shot...
just love the dads in their shades posing so their little girls could be in the picture!
we said pizza and this was the celebratory response...
our very own papa johns buffet...
tick tock tick tock... it's 6 o'clock
daddy made a special facetime call and we were able to sing happy birthday together!!!
and then daddy took the kids on a special tour of the locker room...
time to munch on those delicious paint brushes!!!
we are so very thankful for technology!!!
and thankful for all our wonderful friends who joined the party!
when it came time for the painting portion of the party we looked outside and saw a wall of dust {known here in the desert as a "HABOOB"} headed our way. when the parents agreed we had 30 minutes to make this happen, everyone paired up and quickly set everything out in a matter of seconds!
seriously, these people are amazing!!!
foam core board, washable paint, homemade tams {thanks mom!} and our painters got to work!!!
Avery Lynn went with her creative flow and painted her masterpiece on the wall.
finished product!!!
"look mommy, it's a birthday present!"
trying to get the kids attention during the painting was tough at times...
and when I told mackenzie I had noodles on my head, this was her expression!
PRICELESS!!!
whitley's first painting...
she decided to redecorate using painters tape...
present time...
check out Coop's face!
the presentation of the dream light {aka the simba!}
such a happy girl, she has been asking for this since before Christmas!!!
if you have a sproutlet, you are more than familiar with the Dream Lite song
her excitement when it came to her gifts was adorable.
she would giggle, jump up and down and hollar "this is AHHHHmazing!}
her expression in this photo show pure delight!
and in closing we had a pinata... but not the traditional kind {I was too afraid with the vast difference in the kiddos ages} instead a pull string one. the idea was to have Addison go first, then let the little kids pull a string and then let the bigger kids join in.
well, our dear friend mackenzie {2yrs} pulled the lucky string
and she tugged on it until all the toys and candy came a tumbling down!!!
and then it was pure kiddo choas!!!
thank you to all who were able to come...
thank you to all who were with us in spirit...
and thank you to daddy for making his daughter's day!!!
much love and many blessings to all!!!
