when your flight is at o-dark-thirty
the LAST thing you want is a phone call from your cab company saying they aren't coming...
and to hear from two other cab companies that they need a two hour notice for a mini-van cab!!!
needless to say we were much later than originally planned by the time we finally arrived at the airport.
but that's not the end of it...
at 4am there are lines EVERYWHERE
and because of those lines we had:
"no I'm first, no I'm first discussions for what seemed like forever...
tears in the line for security {not by the wee ones!}...
good choice/bad choice parenting...
people starring...
the carrying of Avery as if she is a football and I was on punt return...
the not-so-gentle "ADDISON RUUUUN!"...
{which I hoped sounded more like Forrest but most likely not}
and all I wanted to do was GET ON THE SILLY PLANE!!!
we did
with less than a minute to spare
and my mom ran a marathon in her OkaBs!!!
in the art of documenting the whole picture...
once we were on the plane it was smiles and snores the whole way to Baltimore!
thankful for the calm, quieting Oswald & the iPad
now would be the time to show those precious photos of seeing each other after a month...
but those don't exist!
we were too excited and in the moment we didn't reach for the camera, only a BIG family hug!!!
FAST FORWARD TO DINNER...
davey found the house chardonay very tasty!
and yes, this IS evidence that Addison ate sushi with chopsticks!
{the chopsticks had training wheels but that is besides the point!}
taking advantage of the hotel pool!
it's gameday!!!
M&T Bank Stadium...
a quick shot before the rain...
we were soggy wragges by the third quarter!!!
thank you to grannie annie and papa dave for making the trip out!
lucky shot... hubby is #64
i have to giggle at this picture!
even from 3 months of age, Addison has never been a big fan of all the extras...
sorry honey... this city is ALL about the extras!!!
yummy stadium food...
quick shot, playing with a calculator - purple of course!
post-game pizza party at the hotel!
yeah it was like 2am EST but that is really only 11pm our time!
our sleeping beauties...
it's after 10am!!!
family shot...
last week was a big birthday week for our little family.
addison loved her party and wanted to go all out for her daddy!
{you should know those big brown eyes welled with tears and a zillion pounds of compassion
when she realized daddy wasn't going to have a party on his actual birthday!}
so we brought the party to daddy!!!
balloons
cupcake cake
presents
more balloons
plates, napkins & such
and then there was daddy's presents!
addison picked out a puppy dream lite pillow pet and I quote,
"so you won't be afraid of the dark without me daddy"
and then there is the special pillow that the girls helped me make for daddy!
the inspiration for this idea came from HERE
however I put my own spin on it with the help of my stash of crafty fun stuff!
here's a close up of the pillow
{i know it is so not to scale, Maryland is a tough state to stitch!}
thanks mom for helping me with the final touches!
and then it was time to play with the balloons...
and balloons...
and more balloons!!!
we just had fun being creative and it doesn't take much to keep us entertained!
then it was time to pack up and head back to the heat...
but not just yet!!!
we received an invitation to join daddy for lunch at work!!!
so we got all dolled up in purple and black of course!
a quick picture with grannie annie and papa dave
and then at "daddy's castle" for lunch!
welcome to the castle...
this place is STUNNING!!!
the girls were little angels and we were so proud of them!
they used their manners and chatted up some of daddy's football friends!
the smiled big time when coach came over to introduce himself
and showed him their dream lite pillow pets!
in the lunch room...
smiling with daddy!!!
tight squeeze from the queen of spice!
addison enjoyed the dessert case...
did you know that ravens LOVE jello???
and avery indulged in the super special ice cream bar!!!
{this place was AMAZING!}
a family shot in the foyer...
it was tough to say goodbye but the countdown has already begun
as to when we will be together again!
i love how our models "pose"
fun picture...
pretty floral display...
wish we could have gotten closer but couldn't risk avery picking all the purple flowers!!!
we really enjoyed our trip out east and we feel as if our family batteries are FULLY charged!
love you daddy!!!
see you soon!!!
