first day of school...

This week our summer came to a close and our school year is officially underway!

I am both filled with joy and yet a little bit of sadness...

Let's start with Miss Addison...

Part of being in the first grade is tying our own shoes.

then packing her lunch...

 she just looks so very grown up!!!

but indulged mommy in an old fashion game of peek-a-boo!!!

For those of you who know Avery, I don't need to tell you that she...

loves to stay up late,

sleeps in until 10,

might skip breakfast,

is particular about what she wears,

and how her hair is styled...

This morning, our dear sweet Avery Lynn was an ANGEL!!!

Seriously, an ANGEL!!!

she got up early...

she went to bed at a reasonable hour...

ate a really good breakfast...

chose her outfit in .08 seconds -shoes too!

and didn't care how I pinned her hair!

{now if you were me at 6:40am you'd be wondering who this was and where Avery was hiding!}

I didn't verbalize it in fear of jinxing it...

We have been blessed to be coming back to...

 a wonderful church,

a loving community,

a school build on our beliefs,

and have remarkable teachers who will just pour their hearts into these children!

It's going to be a great year!!!
