spring catch up... {LOTS OF PHOTOS!}

There are days where we are on top of things, on time and totally with it!
And then there are those other days...

But, usually on those other days where we are scattered brained and unproductive we get to do this...

and this...

and this!!!
I love this picture of Avery peeking through the playground structure!!!!

We have had a ton of fun this spring.
Playdates at the park with dear friends.

love this shot of these silly princesses enjoying tasty treats!!!

Over spring break we made a trip to the zoo with the Tylers...
Addison cracks me up in this picture - is she posing for the lions, tigers and bears???

The zoo has this great splash pad complete with caves and mini slides.
The girls had a blast!!!

Even during splash time, Addison still kept a close eye on her sister!

And of course, another sweet treat!!!

The week after spring break was the art show at school.
It was fun working with the other room moms and teachers on the set up!

Here is Avery showing us her artwork - little stinker!!!

Each of our girls had three pieces of art in the show, so very proud of them!

And then after the art show we went to their favorite restaurant,
"in the whole big wide world" Red Robin!

Tony and I also have had some fun this spring! We were invited to a wonderful charity event with friends and enjoyed getting all dolled/cleaned up!
And yes, we do look like we are going to prom!!!

But this "prom" was so much cooler with Steve Martin, Billy Crystal and Muhammad Ali!!!
Oh and Andrea Bocchelli, Jennifer Lopez and Reba MacEntire!!!
{I will stop, because now I am just name dropping and that is unbecoming of a lady!}

What is great about spring break is having my sister come into town and spoil our girls!
Getting to spend time with my sister and these lovely ladies was such a gift!
We are so excited to have so much wonderful news to celebrate!!!

We had a few special things planned for our guests!!!
Yummy food, fun games, scrapbook projects, bridal bouquet, and special tea party...

Lovely ladies donning their Downton Abbey hats!!!

Great picture of these remarkable ladies!!!

Somebody like tea...
or was it the sugar cubes???
I was informed they lost count of how many she consumed!

Poor Addison was battling an ear infection so our fun was cut short...
and she fell asleep in the car on the way home!

And then there are mornings where storytime with Auntie Carleigh Princess is necessary!!!

Since Easter was upon us, we went with tradition and dyed eggs!!!

Somebody had fun with the egg dye!!!

Seriously, check out her new manicure!!!

And when we ran out of hard boiled eggs, we turned to paper towels!!!

We sure loved having her here!!!
Come again soon Auntie Carleigh Princess!!!
And bring Uncle Josh Duke of Cruces with you!!!

These girls LOVE art!!!

and Barbies...

more Barbies!!!

and even more Barbies!!!

Avery has made friends with the dearest little girl, Julia.
You might remember her from the tea party in the last post!
She is such a doll and they play so well together.
Yesterday we played hooky from school in the afternoon
{I am going to do it now while I can!!!}
and we went to Julia's house for a playdate.

This picture of them playing dress up just makes me smile!!!

Last night was GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!
We were trying to cheer Addison up so I pulled a page out of Grandma Helen's playbook
and we had Ice Cream Sundaes for dinner!
And boy oh boy did we indulge in the weirdest sundae ever!!!
Lemon sherbet, mint chocolate chip and daiquiri ice cream with hot fudge and sprinkles.
They loved every little bit of it although you can't tell by this picture. They were upset that I made them wait to take a picture!!!

Here's a close up!

yummy, yummy, yummy

They literally licked the bowl clean!!!

Part Two: PAINTING
As our girl's night continued, we stopped over at As You Wish to do a little painting!
Avery picked out a hippo... which we later named Hip-casso!!!
Addison picked out a new piggy bank since hers broke over Easter.

SUCH HAPPY FACES!!!

Part Three: POPCORN
We enjoyed movies and popcorn... and a cupcake to pass the time
until we had to pick up daddy from the airport!

They tried to stay up...
