When a door closes, God opens a window...
Today was Addison's last day at her preschool and it was very bittersweet. According to the calendar she has only been at the school a few short weeks but so much has taken place during that time. Her teachers really did a great job of pouring into her and filling her up with God's love. We are very thankful for their insight and all their high-5's, handshakes & hugs!
At the very end of school today the teachers acknowledged all the children who participated in the Read To Me Program that started the middle of April. Affectionately, each student was asked to stand when the number of books they read was called and they each received a round of applause. When it came time to announce the student who read the most books they all did a drum roll... Addison was asked to stand {she posed for everyone, it was hysterical!} and Mrs. Harper announced that she had read 150 books! The whole class said that Addison was a "reading machine!" and my heart was overflowing with joy for her! She was just BEAMING!
And now that the school year is officially over, that door is closed... but we will not fret because their is a very promising window that has brought such a breath of fresh air to our home here in the desert. Addison now has friends that are warm and very friendly, that include her and love her for who she is. I am very thankful that these little bright eyed children are such a good influence for her and their parents are so very welcoming. We have enjoyed park playdates and get-togethers that really have helped us feel at home. We look forward to what the summer holds for us, we have faith and know that there is a plan.
Now, I am off to go tuck in my girls because they are exhausted from playing their little hearts out today. One of my favorite quotes is "the key to being happy parents is to have worn out children."
Nighty night!
