Words cannot begin to describe just how much fun our entire family had this past weekend! It was filled with quality time, joyful tears and new beginnings! We are so blessed to be part of Carleigh and Josh's wedding and there is LOTS of uploading that needs to be done. While I am in that process, I thought that this would be fun to tie you all over until then!
We got home Monday afternoon and decided that after being cooped up in a car all day that it would be good to run around in the backyard. The girls raced upstairs to get their swimsuits {their room is the ONLY one that is organized!} and in a matter of minutes they were outside filling up their pool.
air jumping Avery Lynn...
Who would have thought you could do a belly flop in a 1ft deep pool!
This expression is just filled with so many possibilities!!!
splash, splash, splash...
Again Avery, again!!!!!!
Addison dancing in the pool...
I have to say they used great teamwork, Addison was in charge off filling the pool while Avery turned the hose on/off and wound it back into place. They giggled, they splashed, they jumped...
It was a great time and great way to beat the 111 degree heat until... Addison screamed this high pitch crackle, limping while tears are just pouring down her bright red cheeks! It didn't take long to put two and two together, sweet little Addison had been stung by a bee!!!
Quickly, we did all the things you are supposed to do and as hard as it was for her to calm down her eyes just kept filling up with tears. At one point she looked up at me with those big beautiful brown eyes and said, "Mommy, why did he have to do that???" It was one of those precious moments where you don't know what to say to explain the situation in 5 year old terms, so I replied, "well honey, maybe he was scared." To which she replied, "But I'm not scary!!!" Tears just started down those cheeks again and all I could do was hold her tight.
Happy to report, after soap & water, benadryl cream and a princess bandaid, she is just fine!
Thankfully she is not allergic to bees!!!
Now, I have to go unpack... wish me luck!!!
xoxo
